Glow-in-the-dark and UV Glow Body Paint

GID Green should be used for its glow-in-the-dark effect only. It is almost transparent on skin, glows a little under ultraviolet (UV) light but glows bright green in the dark after charging by light. GID Green has the brightest glow-in-the-dark of all the GID Body Paint products.

The Body Paints named "UV & GID" are neon colours in normal light and give both glow under UV light and glow-in-the-dark effects. The first colour in the name is the bright neon colour. If the glow-in-the-dark colour differs from the bright neon colour then this is indicated by the second colour in the name. They glow vividly when under UV light and glow-in-the-dark after charging by light.

These paints should be used at glow-in-the-dark events that have limited ultraviolet (UV) lighting. Although all these paints can be charged in normal light it is best to have at least one UV light where they can be charged very fast (in just a few seconds) and where the bright UV glow can be seen. After an hour or two any person with the paints on them can return to the UV light area for a few seconds to re-charge the paints and make them glow brightly in the dark again. They are also great for stage performances where it is not possible to have the entire stage under UV light. For this, the stage must be dark and participants should charge the paint under UV light just before the performance. They cannot be used to paint much detail; rather paint simple shapes like lines, circles, squares etc, These paints are often used together with our Bright Neon UV paints to add an extra effect.

The glow-in-the-dark effect is not effective in environments that are not reasonably dark.

The paints need to be applied fairly thick and this is best done using a finger. The result of the thicker layer is that they take quite long to dry. Using a UV light allows a thinner film to be used which also allows for faster drying. A fan or hairdryer can also be used to speed up drying.

The neon coloured paints (paints with "UV" in the name) can stain fabrics but very easily wash off skin and non-porous surfaces like glass, floor tiles and good quality wall paint. GID Green will not stain any surface.

How much Glow-in-the-dark Body Paint is needed?

We recommend 20-30ml of Body Paint per person. This is sufficient for people to paint their faces and arms and also to have some left to paint their party t-shirt.

How is Glow-in-the-dark Body Paint applied?

Application is usually done by finger tip. The paints are quite thick like a gel and need to be applied fairly thick so you cannot archive detail using a paint brush.
